Drive-through crucifixion
Drive through crucifixion

A day late. Too bad I didn't see this sign yesterday. I'd go see what it's all about, except that it's the same time as the Easter Vigil tonight.

Hahaha!

Before I changed my glasses, I read your bit as "Too bad I didn't sin yesterday."

LOL :)

I think I need to forward this to Steve's dad, who's a minister, and his mom, who's remarried to one...

In Ohio I saw drive-thur liquor stores. I wonder if they could combine the concept: "I'd like some whiskey, a six pack and eternal salvation please." :)

Dad's going on the theory that they're trying to compete with the Hispanics at the local Catholic church who stage the crucifixion every Good Friday and get in the local rag for it.

It's for real. This is the Bible Belt. For the last decade or more, drive-through Nativities have been really popular among churches in the area. You drive through their parking lot and see the different stages of the Nativity acted out (well, most of them are still-life scenes, I guess) with real people and goats and donkeys and whatnot.

I imagine that this is the same thing, but for the Passion. It's like a Protestant version of the Stations of the Cross, with none of the prayers between stations or anything. And probably not 14 stations. And in your car, so there's none of that inconvenient getting out of the car and getting back in.
